Tenth IRLM (2017)

The Tenth International Roman Law Moot was hosted by the Universität Trier in one of the oldest cities in Germany, renamed Augusta Treverorum when it was seized by the Romans in 16 BC. Participants were privileged to see Constantine’s Basilica, the Aula Palatina, and to hold the Small and Grand Finals in the magnificent Rococo Hall of the Prince-Elector’s Palace. The Moot was sponsored by the Rechtswissenschaftliche Fakultät at the Universität Trier, the Freundeskreis der Universität Trier and Juristen Alumni Trier e.V.
 

The libellus required teams to engage with an auction that bore more than a striking resemblance in its form and rules to modern internet auctions, as well as an hereditatis petitio arising in connection with disputed inheritance of the estate of the wealthy Penelope, who died in what appeared to be the first outbreaks of plague while travelling in Trapezous.
