International Roman Law Moot

Eleventh IRLM (2018)

The Eleventh International Roman Law Moot was hosted in Eupen and Liège by the Université de Liège, an institution older than Belgium by some 13 years. The Moot was sponsored by the Law Faculty, together with law firms Liedekerke and Elegis, the Fonds David-Constant, the French- and German-speaking governments of Belgium (Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and Ostbelgien), and the cities of Liège and Eupen.

The facts of the libellus were set in Alba Fucens, a Roman colony in Abruzzo that was excavated by a team of archaeologists led by the celebrated Belgian professor of Roman law Fernand De Visscher. It required teams to examine ownership of hybrid sanglochons and to address the rescue or abduction of three not-so-little pigs in connection with an actio de incendio ruina naufragio rate nave expugnata.
