International Roman Law Moot

First IRLM (2008)

The First International Roman Law Moot Court Competition and Colloquium was inaugurated by Dr Helen Scott and Paschalis Paschalidis, and organised by the Institute Mohamed Ali for the Research of the Eastern Tradition and the Municipality of Philippi.

The complicated and mildly melodramatic libellus involved a wedding, a storm, the international import and export of spices and of slaves, some incidental torture, a moderate amount of impersonation and even some unimpressive British cuisine, culminating in an actio venditi, an actio conducti and an actio legis Aquiliae.
